Often people facing surgery feel isolated and would love the opportunity to talk to others in the same position or to those who have been through the same procedure. We have provided a discussion board where visitors to this site will be able to communicate with other site visitors. They will be able to ask questions, offer advice and support or maybe even organise a get together. Click on Forum to join the discussion board. You will have to register but you are quite free to use a nickname.

We would welcome articles from those who would like to share their personal experiences, either facing a replacement operation or having had an operation, with other site visitors. In our experience people find sharing their own experiences very rewarding. Our sister site Alkaptonuria.info has published lots of articles submitted by site users and we hope visitors to the site will contribute to the Your Pages section.

At the moment we only have the Knee and Hips sections up and running but we hope to publish other information within the next few weeks so keep checking. We will post an announcement here when it is published.

Please note that this site was developed with the support and assistance of The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust and as such much of the information pertaining to joint replacement procedures and exercise regimes is particular and specific to the procedures followed by the Broadgreen Hospital Orthopaedic Unit. However much of the information will be appropriate for, and pertinent to, those about to have joint replacement surgery at other hospital units.
